Compare the search workflow you will use across a specification, design guide and manual. This release keeps one active PDF private and makes the document model ready for multi-PDF search.

01

A focused first release

This browser tool currently searches one active PDF at a time. It does not pretend to search several files together; replacing the document preserves the same search and viewer workflow for the next file.

02

Built around document, page and paragraph

The in-memory model keeps document metadata, page geometry, reconstructed paragraphs and match locations separate. That gives a future multi-PDF index a clean place to add document labels without changing the search contract.

03

Check each source in context

Ranked passages link to page navigation, selectable text and readable highlights. Use the page controls to inspect nearby material before deciding whether a keyword match is relevant.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. PDF reading, indexing and searching happen in your browser. The file is not uploaded to KnowledgePilot or permanently stored.

Can this search scanned PDFs?

This version searches PDFs with a selectable text layer. If a document contains mostly page images, it will tell you that there is little searchable text instead of presenting a misleading empty result.

Does the tool use AI?

No. Matching, paragraph reconstruction and ranking are deterministic browser-side operations. There are no LLM calls or AI APIs.

Can I search several PDFs in one query today?

Not yet. The first release intentionally keeps one active PDF to keep processing local, transparent and fast. The internal document model is structured so multi-PDF indexing can be added without faking cross-document results.
