Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about KnowledgePilot, your Knowledge Hub, source citations, privacy, and billing.

General

What is KnowledgePilot?

KnowledgePilot is an AI-powered research platform that transforms YouTube videos and documents into structured knowledge. It generates summaries, key insights, study notes, investment analysis, action plans, and many other outputs while linking information back to the original source.

How does KnowledgePilot work?

Simply upload a supported document or paste a YouTube link.

KnowledgePilot extracts the content, processes it using advanced AI models, and generates the outputs you select. You can also apply an optional framework for guided analysis.

Where available, generated insights include source citations such as YouTube timestamps or document page references.

What file types are supported?

Currently supported formats include YouTube videos and documents.

Supported document formats are PDF, DOCX, TXT, RTF, MOBI, and EPUB.

Audio and video file uploads are not accepted.

Additional formats may be added in future updates.

Knowledge Hub

What is the Knowledge Hub?

The Knowledge Hub is your personal AI knowledge library.

A Knowledge Hub stores the complete source material, such as YouTube videos and uploaded documents. This allows you to build a growing library of knowledge that can be searched, referenced, and reused over time.

Combine several videos and documents in one Knowledge Hub for deeper insights.

Why does the Knowledge Hub store the original source instead of AI outputs?

KnowledgePilot stores the complete source asset because it contains far more information than any individual AI-generated output.

A summary, study notes, or investment analysis only captures one perspective of the original content. By keeping the full source, you can generate entirely new outputs later without needing to upload or process the content again.

For example, you could analyse the same video today as an investor, then return months later to generate study notes, action plans, SWOT analyses, custom questions, or entirely new AI outputs from the same source.

If you delete a YouTube video or document from your Library, KnowledgePilot purges its retained source files and generated outputs from active storage, and removes the asset from your Library.

Can I generate new analyses from items in my Knowledge Hub?

Yes.

While a source remains in your account, you can generate new AI outputs without uploading the content again. A completed new generation resets its 90-day retention window; opening, downloading, or using the source does not.

If you delete the asset from your Library, it is also removed from your Knowledge Hubs and can no longer be used to generate new outputs. To analyse it again, add the YouTube video or document as a new source.

This makes it easy to revisit valuable videos and documents whenever you need a different perspective or new insights.

What can I store in my Knowledge Hub?

You can save supported source materials, including:

  • YouTube videos
  • PDF documents
  • Word documents (DOCX)
  • Text files (TXT)
  • Rich Text Format documents (RTF)
  • MOBI ebooks
  • EPUB ebooks

Additional file types may be supported in future updates.

Is the Knowledge Hub searchable?

Yes.

Your Knowledge Hub is designed to become a searchable library of everything you’ve analysed.

You can quickly find previously saved sources instead of remembering where you originally found the information.

Can I remove items from my Knowledge Hub?

Yes.

You can delete individual source assets from your Knowledge Hub at any time.

Once deleted, the source will no longer be available unless you analyse it again.

What happens to my Knowledge Hubs if I downgrade?

Your existing Knowledge Hubs are not automatically deleted. After a downgrade, your account uses the new plan's Hub limit; free accounts can keep one Hub. If you are over that limit, delete Hubs until you are within it before creating another.

Deleting a Hub removes the Hub, its saved answers and outputs, and its source references. It does not delete the original source files from your Library.

AI and source citations

How accurate is the AI?

KnowledgePilot uses leading AI models, but AI can make mistakes or misinterpret information.

Always verify important information using the provided source citations before relying on it for business, investment, legal, or personal decisions.

Does KnowledgePilot replace professional advice?

No.

KnowledgePilot provides educational and informational analysis only.

Nothing generated by the platform should be considered financial, legal, tax, medical, accounting, or investment advice.

What are source citations?

Many outputs include direct references back to the original material.

Examples include:

  • YouTube timestamps
  • Document page numbers

This allows you to quickly verify information without searching through the original content.

Why do some analyses include timestamps?

Source citations increase transparency.

Instead of simply trusting the AI, you can immediately jump back to the original video or document to verify the information.

Data, privacy, and ownership

Can I upload confidential documents?

You should only upload documents that you have the legal right to use.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, you should avoid uploading highly sensitive, confidential, or regulated information unless you understand the associated risks.

Do you store my files?

Yes. Non-subscriber files become eligible for deletion 90 days after their last completed generation, regardless of plan.

Opening, downloading, or using a file does not extend that retention period; completing a new generation does.

Deleted files are permanently removed according to our data retention policy.

Can I delete an uploaded document?

Yes. Deleting a private document from your Library permanently removes the document and its generated content. Any dynamic link you previously shared will stop working.

If you have added the document to a Knowledge Hub, first remove it from that Hub, then delete it from your Library to permanently remove it.

Who owns the generated content?

You retain ownership of your original uploaded content.

You own the AI-generated outputs created specifically for your use, subject to the rights of the original content owner.

KnowledgePilot does not claim ownership of your documents.

Can I use generated content commercially?

Generally yes, provided you have the legal right to use the original source material.

You remain responsible for ensuring your use complies with copyright laws and any applicable licenses.

Do you store copies of YouTube videos?

No.

KnowledgePilot processes publicly available YouTube content that you choose to analyse and retains the extracted source material needed for your analysis, but it does not store a copy of the video itself.

We do not claim ownership of YouTube content.

Credits, subscriptions, and payments

How do credits work?

Each analysis consumes credits depending on:

  • Input size
  • Output type
  • AI model used

Credit costs are shown before analysis whenever possible.

Credits expire after 30 days without an active subscription. They do not expire while your subscription remains active.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes.

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time.

You can cancel in billing to prevent future renewal and keep access until the end of the current billing period.

If you need an immediate cancellation and refund, send Support a ticket. Our team reviews eligible requests and, when approved, can process the refund and end the subscription straight away.

What happens to my storage if I downgrade or cancel?

Your paid plan remains active until the end of your current billing period. After it ends, your account moves to the free plan.

Your paid plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. After it ends, non-public files become eligible for permanent deletion 90 days after the later of their last completed generation or your paid-through entitlement end. Opening, downloading, or using a file does not extend that period.

Do you offer refunds?

Because AI analysis is generated immediately after credits are used, completed analyses are generally non-refundable.

If there is a technical issue or billing error, please contact support and we will review your case.

Does KnowledgePilot store my payment details?

Stripe securely processes payment card and billing details.

KnowledgePilot stores your account email and limited billing records needed for subscriptions, credits, refunds, and support.

We do not store full payment-card details.
