Model a starting balance and monthly contributions at your assumed return. Free local calculator with yearly totals, no AI or price feed.
Quick answer
Regular contributions and compounding answer a different question from picking a future investment return. This calculator shows what follows mathematically from your chosen constant rate. It converts your effective annual CAGR into an equivalent monthly growth rate and adds contributions at each month’s end. The yearly table separates the amount you put in from the modeled balance and growth.
At zero return, a starting balance of 1,000 and twelve monthly contributions of 100 end at 2,200. At a positive assumed rate the result is larger; at a negative assumed rate some contributions can lose value. Changing assumptions demonstrates sensitivity, not certainty.
Real returns vary and can be negative. A constant return omits the sequence of gains and losses, market timing, taxes, fees and inflation. The display uses numbers without assigning a currency; use the same units for every input. Historical prices are not loaded, and the result is not a return forecast or a recommendation to buy an asset. Not financial advice. Use your own assumed stock CAGR; this tool does not infer a stock’s future return.
